Small master bedroom

In a perfect world your master bedroom should be a haven in which you and your spouse can retreat from the world and enjoy each other. Unfortunately, the same type of clutter and dust that invades every other room in your house can spill over into your master bedroom.

One of the easiest ways to spiffy up your master bedroom on a daily basis is make the bed. It's a simple as that. If you aren't someone who routinely makes the bed you'll be amazed how much better a room will look and how quickly you'll be hooked. A great facelift for a bedroom is also a simple one, it's called a "bed in a bag". These sets come with comforters, coordinating sheets, pillow shams and bed skirts. If you have a visible bathroom attached to the master bedroom it's nice to carry your color theme through to the bathroom too.

Clear off the top of your dressers. As with all flat surfaces these will tend to gather papers too. If you don't have a home office where you keep bills and other important papers, get an organizer. A good way to organize bills and papers is in an accordion folder. They can be organized alphabetically or by month. Just get them off your dresser!

Redecorating small bedroom

With Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year holidays all creeping up quickly on us, you’ve probably been considering how to decorate for the season. You’ve probably also thought about asking for new furniture as a holiday gift and are trying to decide how to work new furniture into your decorating plans. Start by choosing modern bedroom furniture that can act as a centerpiece for your holiday design but still be blended into future designs as the seasons change, since contemporary choices are usually available in neutral colors.

Opting for fine bedroom furniture as an early Christmas gift can help you to create a warm, inviting environment in which to spend the crisp autumn and cold winter nights through the holidays. You’ll be satisfied with the elements of your design a well as the style of your new furniture, making relaxation in your new bed and winter haven something you can look forward to on a daily basis.

Most contemporary bedroom furniture is sleek and elegant, with simplistic linear definition and a lack of intricate woodwork or metal casting, allowing you to create your own style around a more basic framework of minimalistic design. Such pieces are extremely versatile and can be dressed up for the holiday season, then reworked for spring, summer, and other occasions.

Small bedroom paint

The bedroom is one room where you can truly express your own sense of colour and style. This is a place where you can let go and try new things as it is a private room. Personal taste is the order of the day and no one colour is best. Some will simply prefer soft and tranquil colours while others will go for rich, deep accent colours.

When designing our dream bedrooms we often think about style and furniture first. We want to create a theme and provide a consistent look. This can only be achieved by using paint colours that match our theme/style.
In this article we will explore different bedroom styles and suggest good matching paint colours.

Japanese Bedroom Designs
The Japanese approach to bedroom design is modern and minimalistic. They often use neutral paint colours such as white and cream and are offset by strong wood floor colours and furniture. The Japanese look can be great however it is often difficult to get right.

Ultra Modern Bedroom Design
Ultra modern bedrooms are the must have look for 2010 and are both minimalistic in nature and bold. Decorators can either use soft neutral whites or very strong pastel colours here. Grey aqua marine is often a popular paint colour here. These designs are often very ambitious and therefore meticulous planning must be done before beginning.

Organizing small bedroom

As we move through the house, we’re going to hit the master bedroom next. I want this room to be a haven and an escape for you. You won’t see your room as that if you don’t like it and the decorations you have in it. Remember: small steps!

1. Walk in to your bedroom as you walked in to the family room and look at it critically. Is it cluttered? What’s the first thing that you notice? Do whatever that is first. If it’s making the bed, do it. If it’s putting dirty clothes in a basket, do that. Whatever it is, get it done.

2. Does your bedroom fall under the Law of Flat Surfaces? If so, start by clearing off the dresser(s) and headboard. If you have papers there, look through them, pitch what needs to be pitched, and file away (as you did in the study) what needs to be filed. Once you can see the tops of the dressers and headboard, run over them quickly with your duster.

3. If you have lots of things on your dresser tops and top of the headboard, the next challenge is to de-clutter. You’ve already done the paper-aspect of this—now look critically at the other things you have.

Small bedroom tips

When decorating a small bedroom then it makes sense wherever possible to conserve the floor space you have in order to make a cramped room feel larger than it really is. Below are some small bedroom decorating ideas which should help you to achieve the right result for such a small space.

1. If you do not have enough space in the room for small bedside table then why not place a wall mounted shelf next to the bed. It will have enough space on it to place an alarm clock, books, photos and other items which will personalize the space for you.

2. If you do not have the room for a bureau or closet then use under bed storage instead. They can either be made from inexpensive plastic or if you wish you can have some made to order from wood. But it is important that you have enough space beside the bed so that you can pull them out when you need access to them.

3. For those of you who want to watch a little TV before going to sleep then fit either a wall or ceiling mounted TV stand. You will be able to purchase one in any good DIY store or store that specializes in storage products.

Your bedroom should be one of the most relaxing places in your home. If your bedroom feels disordered, you may not sleep well. Experts suggest mess or reminders of work in your sleeping space will interfere with getting a good night of sleep. These things keep your mind moving, and you may be worried about what you forgot to do, or what you will have to do the next day. You have to design your sleeping space for peace and relaxation.Bedroom decorating ideas are abundant, and your biggest problems might not be finding ideas, it might be narrowing down what you want from a list of things you like.

Bedroom decorating ideas are everywhere. You can find inspiration in magazines, on television, in movies, and even in store displays and catalogs. What you have to do is decide what feel you want for your sleeping area. In most cases, you want a relaxing color. A bright red or yellow might not be the best idea. However, a deep maroon or a very light yellow might be all right. The idea is to make sure the color is relaxing to your eye and not energizing or bright.

Interested in decorating your bedroom? Good! There are more options today for furniture, bedding, organizers and accents than even a billionaire could install in one lifetime. Oh, happy day!

Bedroom furniture sets can readily be found in American Colonial, Swedish Modern, High Tech, Romantic and a hundred other styles. Four posters are ever popular. Canopies are coming back. Brass headboards are all the rage. Any style imaginable is just a few clicks away.

Oak is still popular, of course. But Cherry, Teak and a half-dozen other woods are hanging right in there. Precision manufactured or hand made, finished or unfinished, they're all just perfect for someone. Fittings and frames are more secure than ever. Gone are the days of split, pressboard bed frame parts.

Bedding has gone to an even wider selection.

Bedspreads and comforters are now available in as many colors as your computer screen can display. Vivid scarlet or subtle sea green are two low key choices. Dazzling arrays of geometrical designs are another option. A soothing forest scene for you or a Biff! Bam! Pow! comic book set for the kids are only two of the hundreds of possibilities.
